1 – Quem é você, de onde vem e o que faz?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sou Antonio Carlos Mafalda. Vim das nascentes do Rio da Várzea, afluente do Rio Uruguai, na linha Concórdia, município de Palmeira das Missões, no Rio Grande do Sul. Sou um fotojornalista independente.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 – Como surgiu o convite para <\/strong>integrar<\/strong><\/a> o júri do concurso ‘El Río Uruguay revelado per las lentes’?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fotografo há muitos anos o Rio Uruguai e, trabalhando sobre os aquíferos Guarani e Serra Geral, juntamente com minha companheira Imara Stallbaum, escritora e sempre repórter, conhecemos o professor e geólogo Luiz Fernando Scheibe, da UFSC, com quem acabamos fazendos o livro ‘Águas Subterrâneas, Um Patrimônio Catarinense’, com o patrocínio da Fapesc. O convite foi resultado desse encontro, pois Scheibe integra o Fórum de Conservação e Uso Racional do Rio Uruguai e Aquífero Guarani, ligado à União dos Parlamentares do Mercosul, instituições promotoras do concurso.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 – Qual é a importância da fotografia para contar histórias e comunicar?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Começo por dizer que não é qualquer um que pode se intitular fotógrafo. Ser fotógrafo é muito mais que ter uma câmera e disparar. Vou mais longe. É muito mais que dominar as técnicas fotográficas. Ser fotógrafo não é trilhar caminhos seguros e fazer o que os outros fazem. É ter voz, ter algo novo a dizer. É mostrar as sensações que se tem diante de determinado motivo e transmiti-las numa imagem. Por outras palavras, é ser capaz de exprimir visualmente o que sente. O resto é fazer fotografia sem sentido. Não vale a pena. A fotografia que faço todos os dias é uma caixinha que abro e sempre descubro um milagre que nunca se transforma. Conforme Ernest Haas, a fotografia é uma ponte entre a ciência e a arte. Traz para a ciência o que ela mais precisa: o sentido artístico. E para a arte, a prova de que nada pode ser imaginado que não possa ser correspondido nos contrapontos da natureza.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 – Qual foi a imagem mais marcante registrada em sua carreira?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Centenas de fotos me deram a projeção que tenho hoje. Seria ingratidão da minha parte escolher apenas uma para chamar de minha melhor. Todas as que fiz são narrativas da história e já se tornaram importantes. Então, a mais importante sempre será a que farei amanhã.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 – Quais são os seus planos para daqui a cinco anos?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vou continuar acreditando que, mesmo em circunstâncias turbulentas como as que enfrentamos hoje, é preciso acreditar na vida e na energia que a natureza nos oferece. O amanhã decidirá minha vida.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
