O centro cultural Instituto Ling – que está localizado na Rua João Caetano, 440 – Três Figueiras, Porto Alegre – terá, na próxima terça-feira, 15, até o dia 22 deste mês, um curso dedicado à vida e obra do fotógrafo brasileiro Sebastião Salgado, falecido em maio deste ano. A atividade será conduzida pelo jornalista, fotógrafo e professor Fernando Schmitt, com encontros sempre às terças-feiras, às 19h.<\/span><\/p>\n

A proposta é relacionar a trajetória de Salgado com os principais capítulos da fotografia documental nas últimas três décadas. Serão abordados seus trabalhos em parceria com a agência Magnum, os projetos de longo prazo como ‘Trabalhadores’, ‘Êxodos’ e ‘Gênesis’, além de momentos marcantes, como o registro do atentado ao então presidente dos Estados Unidos, Ronald Reagan, e a cobertura de Serra Pelada.<\/span><\/p>\n

A trajetória de Salgado teve início nos anos 1970, quando ainda atuava como economista. Durante viagens profissionais, começou a fotografar utilizando a câmera de sua companheira, Lélia Wanick Salgado, com quem também desenvolveu seus principais projetos autorais e editoriais.<\/span><\/p>\n

As inscrições para o curso estão abertas ao público em geral, podendo ser realizadas <\/span>neste site<\/span><\/a> ou presencialmente no centro cultural (Rua João Caetano, 440), no bairro Três Figueiras, em Porto Alegre. Há 10% de desconto para associados do Fotoclube Porto-Alegrense e bolsas de 80% para professores da rede pública, mediante solicitação por e-mail (<\/span>instituto.ling@institutoling.org.br<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Sobre o ministrante<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fernando Schmitt é fotógrafo, curador e produtor cultural, com graduação em Jornalismo e mestrado em Comunicação Social. Já atuou como professor em instituições como Unisinos, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Museu da Imagem e do Som (MIS-SP) e Serviço Social do Comércio de São Paulo (Sesc-SP), além de ministrar cursos e workshops em diversas cidades brasileiras e também no exterior.
